  • The "why" with the " how"

    I bought this book because I thought it would have clear explanations of things like scales, octaves, and various musical concepts and notations that I am trying to learn. While the author does exactly what I had hoped, he added the interesting background information of why certain conventions were adopted (almost enough to make you want to tune your own harp from scratch!). It all made for an interesting and sometimes humorous story. A terrific book that I will refer to often.
